Monochrome Magic! The Yours Clothing Styling Challenge

Monochrome Magic! The Yours Clothing Styling Challenge

There’s nothing quite like having friends that love the same stuff that you do, but there’s also nothing quite like having friends that show you things you’ve never seen or thought of before. My blogging bestie Hayley from Curves n Curls and I have two different ways of thinking when it comes to fashion – she’s a retro babe who slays occasionwear like no-one I’ve ever seen where as I’m more casual and quirky – but we both ADORE fashion and putting looks together.

We decided to put our different styling to the test and together with Yours Clothing, we put together looks for each other based on our own style and what we think the other person would ROCK!

Here’s the look that Hayley put together for me:

Maxi Shirt (SOLD OUT) – Similar here and here
Black Scuba Jegging – £19.00
Black Cleated Platform Gladiator Sandals in E Fit – £19.00
White Silver Crystal Drop Earrings – £4.00 (on sale)
Pastel Pink Shoulder Bag with Detachable Straps (worn as clutch) – £12.00

I’m going to hire Hayley to style me from time to time because although this outfit is not what I would naturally choose for myself, I absolutely LOVE it!

The sheer maxi shirt is the most surprising to me. I usually hate blouses on me but because of the length and the fit, I really enjoyed wearing this. This is a size 22 and it’s an absolutely perfect fit for me. No gaping on the chest at all, so perfect for big booby ladies too!

The scuba jeggings are cut so strangely – the legs are cut far too small and the waist is GIGANTIC. When we were taking these photos, my jeggings were falling down constantly because of how big they were around the top – but because of the sizing on the leg, I could never size down. I’m wearing a 22 in this and I’d say I’d need a 24 for the leg and an 18 for the waist. It’s a shame because I loved the look and the subtle sheen on them.

The real awesome parts to this outfit however are the accessories. The cleated platform sandals are so light and easy to wear! I found them really comfortable, especially as I usually wear a EEE fit, and these were E fit and a size 8. Yours Clothing have really got their footwear right – I’ve seen some amazing pieces from them!

The clutch bag is also incredible – I love the colour of it and it has three compartments inside – yes THREE! It holds all of my things without being too bulky or heavy and I have no problem with it closing either. I love it, and I’ll be wearing it all the time!

I’m not usually an earrings kind of girl, but these White and Silver drop earrings are really glamorous and classy and I felt they dressed up the look in a subtle way. The only drawback for these was that they are very heavy and I felt them slipping out of my ears as the backs that they came with weren’t very secure.

I loved how Hayley styled me and I usually wouldn’t even think of the bits she put me in, but I think I look crackin’! Here’s a sneaky peek of what I styled Hayley in – you can read all about her look over on her blog.
