Review: Plus Size Fashion Event – Curve Fashion Festival – A.K.A Babe Central!

Review: Plus Size Fashion Event – Curve Fashion Festival – A.K.A Babe Central!

Right, I’ve just got back from quite possibly one of the best weekends of my entire life, so if I gush a bit too much on this post, just send a cleaner with a mop and bucket, ‘kay? I’m glad we’ve agreed on this. On 26th September, 2015 in a Convention Centre in Manchester, UK, hundreds of gorgeous plus-size fashionistas, bloggers, models and celebrities all congregated together in the name of fashion. Oh, and I was there too!
Curve_Fashion_FestivalOf course, I’m talking about the Curve Fashion Festival, held at the Manchester Central Exchange Centre and organised by the beautiful Zoe Ellis-Pennick, personal shopper and stylist for plus-size women (I know right, who better to host an event?!). Like the opening of a brand new macaroon-only café (why has no one made one of these yet?!), I had been looking forward to this event for MONTHS. Mostly because I got to see all the babes I saw at Style XL (another plus-size fashion event, that I wrote all about HERE), but also because of all the hype before the event. Everything seemed so very exciting, with Tess Holliday, Hayley Hasslehoff, Nicolette Mason and Style Me Curvy all in attendance, not to mention the hoards of brands selling their wares and the two catwalk shows! Be still my beating fashion heart!

I’d also heard that it was the official launch of Lisa Riley’s clothing range Just Be You. Having had a quick chat to Lisa at Curvy Convention (another plus-size fashion event, that again I wrote all about HERE) I knew how much she was looking forward to launching her new range – she is SUCH a babe! I’d contacted Zoe about an idea I’d had for the event and one thing lead to another, meaning I was given the honour of arranging some blogger babes to model Lisa’s new range for her at a press photo call during the event. Now, I am by no means a model – but I am hugely passionate about ranges that are created with various body shapes in mind, so I jumped at the chance!

After the photo call, I got busy making the rounds around the festival – I chatted to loads of people, saw a whole bunch of brands, met some absolute babes and of course, got to meet Tess Holliday! The whole event was extremely well planned, well thought out and geared towards both bloggers and the public. With the largest amount of brands actually selling at this event, there really was something for everyone! I had a really really good time, and I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to the next one!

Anyway, less talkie more piccy Lottie! Here’s my best bits from the weekend:

My #Crelfie from Kat Henry!

Part of the gloooory of these kinds of events is the ability to see clothing up close and personal, in a variety of styles. We don’t quite have the mixture of models that we’d like yet – something Debz from Wannabe Princess and I talked to Zoe about for next year’s event. You can read my opinion piece on catwalk models HERE.

I tried to say hello to as many beautiful babes as possible but it was impossible to go around and say hello to everyone! I missed out on chatting to a couple of my utter inspirations as well, it was just so difficult to say hello to everyone. If you wanted to chat to me and you didn’t, I am so so sorry!

Too much love for these ladies

When I wasn’t hanging out with babes and staring at cool stuff, I was wandering around Manchester with Lolly, Debz and Amanda eating food and taking amazing blog photos! Just take a look at the street art!
