Since starting my blog, I’ve met some incredible people online. Every single person who has bothered to message me or shared something of mine or taken the time to read something I wrote has completely touched my heart.
I’ve often had thoughts about whether or not I’m “good enough” for what I do. I’ve sometimes felt like I’ve snuck into a very exclusive party of women and that at any point I’ll be sniffed out as a faker and this incredible journey I’ve been on will end.
I’m a very positive person, and I believe in raising other people up in all they do. I’ve often wondered if that positivity has ever made me less respectable. I’m not afraid to talk about the bad in a situation or have negative thoughts about something, but when it comes to other bloggers or creative people, I will always cheer them on. If I were ever asked for creative input, I would give honest feedback, every single time, even if it were negative. For the most part, I really believe in positively enforcing people who have the same struggles as you.
It’s really tough to put your heart and soul into something for other people to read or watch or view. It can be nerve wracking and scary to think about what other might think about what you do. I make a point of telling people how excellent they are because it means a lot to me that someone has beared their soul for other people to see. I applaud anyone who does this just for that reason.
Today, I learned that I have been shortlisted for an award at the British Plus Size Awards. I am one of 6 other amazing and brilliant bloggers that have been nominated for Best New Blog! My heart is completely full. I am so over the moon to be in the company of some of the bloggers I look up to and respect, bloggers who inspire me and who have supported me during this amazing journey.
I’m positive I won’t win, and that is absolutely fine with me because the women in my category are phenomenal and deserve all the success and celebrations in the world. I am genuinely ecstatic with just being shortlisted alongside these ultra-babes.
Please take the time to vote for me, or if there’s other bloggers you love, join me in voting for them too! I am so grateful and utterly lucky to be able to write this post, and to have people like you to read it.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
