***I am editing this post to let you know that I’m no longer supporting Scarlett and Jo due to ethical reasons***
You may remember from previous blog posts (and casual social media mentions, general running around the streets yelling about it, getting you to vote…) that I was up for Best New Blog at the British Plus Size Awards. You might already know that I didn’t win (it’s okay, I’m fine…really…*sob*) but my gorgeous friend Hayley from Curves and Curls UK did – you can read all about her story as well as some fashion tips and serious banter on THIS POST.
I stayed at the fantastic Radisson Blu hotel on Portman Square, which is where the event was being held – we also got an upgrade to a Business Class which meant that our room was stunning and we had lots of space to get ready.
Here’s what I wore to the event :
Scarlett and Jo Velvet Fishtail Dress (Similar) – £80.00***
Lady Luck Bag Skinnydip x Felicity Hayward – £30.00
Yes, you’ll notice that I’m also modelling this dress for Scarlett and Jo on their website! Gifi Fields was kind enough to arrange for my dress to be customised and added some silver embellishments to the shoulders for me to make it a custom piece which I was thrilled to wear! I’m sorry, but I would totally have sex with myself in this dress, I look SO HOT.
My girlfriend Emma also got all dressed up with me! She is a size 14-16 and she wore this:
Doesn’t Emma look like a complete and utter fox?! Her dress goes all the way up to a size 28 and mine goes up to a 32, so if you’re looking for something for your posh Christmas do, check out these two dresses!
The whole night was incredible and we had so much fun hanging out with fellow bloggers, brands and babes from magazines and so on – it was a dream come true kind of night! I’ll have a blog post coming about choosing the right underwear for the event too, so keep tuned to this station, ya heard?
Here’s some of the other looks that I loved from the night (all photos copyright The British Plus Size Awards):
