**This is going to be an image heavy blog post! All images were taken by Emma Gunn or myself – if you take one to use elsewhere, please credit us!**

This blogging malarkey has thrown up some pretty amazing opportunities in the past year for me. I’ve been to London Fashion Week earlier this year (I didn’t feel so good for S/S17 so had some rest instead!), I shot this eBay campaign, I’ve been able to work with LOADS of my fave brands really closely…okay, this isn’t supposed to be a braggy post but it’s starting to sound that way! But one of the most amazing things that I have been able to do happened this weekend thanks to Currys PC World and Canon – I got to attend London Fashion Weekend as a photographer and shoot the runway shows!

We arrived at 9am on Sunday (yeah I know, I was knackered!) at The Sloane Club in Chelsea ready to get signed in and get kitted up. I took my own Canon 1300D camera with me and loaned out a Canon 760D to take a few photos on a better quality camera than my little starter one. We gathered together, did our settings ready for the runway and sat down to a brilliant talk by the beautiful Tina Eisen, a noted fashion and beauty photographer. Tina’s talk was perfect for me being a proper photography beginner and I got some great tips about passion and being myself. And then…it was time for the runway!

The first show we saw was J.JS Law. Stood in the photographers pit was really daunting, but it was great fun and I got some great shots! These were all shot on a Canon 760D:

After getting up close and personal with 39 other people in the photographers pit, we had a break between shows and got to go and have a look around the stalls. London Fashion Weekend is one of the only shows where you can buy what you see on the catwalks, so it was really refreshing to have a look around!

Before we knew it, it was time for us to end the day and pop back to the Photographers Pit ready for the first Trend show of the day. The show was sponsored by Avenue32 and featured all the trends from catwalks all over the world, from florals to velvet to embroidery. These photos are taken on a mixture of the Canon 1300D and the Canon 760D:

  2. Wow, what an opportunity for a blogger to get! The catwalk looks like it was lit really well which is always a big help. I’ve been teaching my Dad basics, my top tip is to learn the rule of thirds and play with it 🙂

  4. These photos are really great, I love how they’re all framed with lots of different points of interest but the main focal point still being the model and the clothes. The multi-coloured check coat is beautiful. What a really great opportunity to do something a little bit different, love it. xx
