NEW BRAND ALERT! Introducing Want That Trend

Every once in a while, a predominantly straight size brand realises that, in fact, plus size women also love fashion and they dip their toe into the world of plus size fashion. I’ve got the pleasure of introducing you to the newest plus size friendly brand on the block – step up to the plate Want That Trend!

Now if you’re like me and you enjoy watching cheesy telly such as Geordie Shore, you might have noticed that Holly Hagan has a clothing range with Want That Trend for our straight sized sisters, so you may have heard of the brand before. They’ve just made the leap into introducing their own range of really pretty skater style dresses for ladies size 16-24. I know what you’re thinking here – size 24 isn’t plus size enough – but let me enlighten you. This is a young, independent brand who have only ever catered for straight sizes. For them to make a leap to plus size this early on is brilliant, and to offer fast, affordable and wearable items AT THE SAME PRICE AS THE STRAIGHT SIZE EQUIVALENT is a huge bonus (take note Boohoo, ASOS Curve…)

When the babes at Want That Trend reached out to me to try out one of their skater dresses, of course I said yes! – Take a look at this gorgeous floral scuba skater dress:

Navy Astonia Contrast Skater Dress – £22.95 (SOLD OUT – Similar here)

I’m a firm size 22 normally but I’m wearing a size 20 in this dress and it fits really really well. The material is a thick scuba style which gives the dress a really nice structure and means that it just skates over your body in a lovely way. If you’re looking for “flattering” (*shudder* I hate that word) then this dress and all of the other contrast dresses in this series are SO for you. The dress isn’t going to break any fashion boundaries, but if you’re looking for a go-to dress, something you can wear time and time again, this is perfect. I can see me wearing this at weddings, to work, for birthdays…errything!

I’m 5’7” and this hits me just above the knee which is a great length, especially when you’re still learning to love your legs like I am. I love the summery feel to this dress too but you could easily wear this well into Autumn/Winter paired with tights, a cute cardi and some ankle boots.

I just love the structure of the dress and how pretty the print is – all of the dresses on the site have a gorgeous bright print, mostly floral, and are all in this kind of material. Because of how thick and luxe the scuba is, the print doesn’t stretch and stays lovely and bright throughout wearing. This dress feels like it should be more than the price tag and I’m certain that the quality of the dress will also stand the test of time!

So will you be giving Want That Trend a try? If you’re a size 24 and over, why not tweet Want That Trend and let them know that you want to try their dresses? You never know what a bit of direct action might do!
