You know how they say that you should do one thing a day that scares you? Well at the weekend, I did enough scary shit to last me a lifetime. For the first time in my life, I stripped off to my tiny lingerie in a room full of other people and got in front of the camera. But not only that, I did this for an AMAZING body positive brand called MyMilla as part of their upcoming campaign for S/S 2016.

Left to Right – Hayley from Curves n Curls UK, Denise, Nicole – CEO of MyMilla, Rosie from A Rose Like This, Tinaresse – Plus Size Model, ME!

Let me tell you a bit about MyMilla – in fact no, let MyMilla tell you about themselves:

“Mymilla is on a mission to bring back the fun to your lingerie shopping for D+ cups by increasing the range of styles, sizes and brands available to you or your loved ones. By solely focus on providing D-K cup bras ranging from back sizes 28-42, we search the UK market for luxury brands that provide both comfort and style at an affordable price. From your everyday bra to one for a special occasion, Mymilla aims to stock different choices to suit your individual style. Say goodbye to the bras you bought just because it was available in your size and say hello to ones that ticks all your boxes!”

Yep, that’s right – they are a company that caters to the large chested woman, for a wide range of back sizes too, sourcing lingerie from all your favourite lux suppliers like Curvy Kate, Elomi and Charnos. What sets MyMilla from the rest of the pack is that they are completely Photoshop free in their photo campaigns and they use models of all shapes and sizes. They feel that we should all embrace who we are – something that I know you know I am crazy in love with (remember this post about me being a Body Confidence Revolution ambassador?).

It wasn’t just me involved with the day though, my incredibabes Rosie from A Rose Like This and Hayley from Curves n Curls UK were on hand to get their bits out in the name of diversity. We also met the gorgeous Tinaresse and Denise whilst we were there too – these girls are SO FUNNY and every bit as gorgeous in real life as they are in this picture.

For a fashion company to use models of different weights, specifically those outside of the norm sizes and shapes like me in their main campaigns is GROUND BREAKING. For a lingerie brand to use these models is unheard of, especially with no retouching, no editing – just good lighting and an amazing photographer in the shape of Charlotte (check her out here!). Charlotte put us at ease during the shoot, had hilarious ways of helping us to relax and was brilliant with instruction and helping us to get the best out of the day. It was also really great to spend time with the CEO of MyMilla, Nicole who joined us in her underwear for a few shots on the day! She is such a determined woman and has all her ideas in completely the right place. I’m in awe of her!

You HAVE to check out MyMilla and see what they have to offer – I promise you that you won’t be disappointed! In fact, you’ll be pleasantly surprised I’m sure… especially when you see my mug on their website! Haha! Check them out now, I promise you won’t regret it.

  1. Omg yassss girl! This is amazing and you are amazing. You’re right, for a lingerie brand to do this is pretty unheard of, which is just SO weird when you think about it. Lingerie brands have a huge platform to promote body positivity. I must admit, I’m an AP kind of girl simply because they feel so luxurious, but their campaigns are just so monotonous. Obviously we can’t simply slide from one end of the spectrum to the other, but a bit of variety would be nice! This feels like one of those Dove campaigns, but much more genuine. What an amazing experience for you :)! Let’s hope the industry takes note!
