I’ve harped on about so many different things since I started this blog. Some things have been super personal (TMI on Endometriosis anyone?!) and others were more fashion drooling than anything else (hello Mary Katrantzou!) but I have always written entirely from the heart. This post may seem a little bit self appreciating, so soz about that but I want to toot my own horn. I’ve been feeling a little meh recently and I need to remind myself of how much I’ve achieved.
Just a few short months after I started blogging – four to be exact – I was nominated for a British Plus Size Award for Best New Blog. This was an absolute dream come true! Not only had I just been blurting out my non-censored nonsense on the internet, but people were actually reading it – and not only that, they were enjoying it enough to nominate me for an award! (you can still vote for me to WIN by clicking HERE) I’m now 6 months in to my blogging journey and I have met some incredible and inspirational women.
The amazing Georgina Grogan from She Might Be Loved has been not only a mentor, but an excellent friend to me. She’s been there when I needed to moan, she’s supported me when I’ve tried something new and given me advice when I was about to stray into something I shouldn’t. The gorgeous Kathryn Mallow from Murder of Goths has inspired me with her creativity and her talent in art, and when she created her plus-size blogger artwork, she was INCREDIBLE enough to include me in a group of women I had previously admired from afar. And then, Katt from A Curvy Cupcake fought back against Instagram’s banning of the hashtag ‘curvy’ by coining the phrase ‘curvee’ and awakened the revolutionist in me, as well as inspiring hundreds if not thousands of women to do the same.
So when these three women put their heads together, they created The Curvee Awards. An awards that celebrates nothing but plus-size bloggers and revolutionists, women who inspire and promote self love and positivity.
Now it was a dream come true to be nominated for Best New Blog at the British Plus Size Awards, but I’m asking if you could help me again to gain an award that means so much to me because of who has created the awards themselves – my fellow bloggers and inspirational babes!
