Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet just recently ladies, I’ve been preparing to watch my best friend marry her best friend over the past weekend! I was so excited to see them tie the knot and to be a part of their big day – but what I wasn’t excited about was finding an outfit for the occasion!
Her colour scheme was navy, which is a colour I just do not get on with. I looked at rows upon rows of navy dresses and I just could not bring myself to buy one – I know I would have looked terrible in it! So instead I turned to my trusty Lindy Bop girls to see if there was anything I could find on there.
I looked through all of the Audrey dresses – I knew the classic cut would be perfect for a summer wedding and I wanted something that would be elegant and different to what anyone else would be wearing. I’m a sucker for polka dots (as you can see from my review of THIS Lindy Bop dress) so when I saw this beautiful Audrey Blue Polka Dot dress, I just knew I had to have it!
I’m wearing a 26″ Champagne coloured petticoat underneath this dress which I also purchased from Lindy Bop. You can buy it HERE. When I went to buy this petticoat, they didn’t have it in my size so I sized up – this was a huge mistake as I ended up having to tuck the petticoat in my BRA for it to stay up all day! As the sizing of these petticoats are so large (i.e. you can buy a 8-14, a 14-20 and a 22-26) I would strongly suggest looking at the measurements before you buy.
This dress comes with a gorgeous white belt which is size specific so will fit you no matter if you buy a larger size. I will warn you THIS DRESS IS TRUE TO SIZE. There is no need to size up, in fact, there’s probably an argument that I could have sized DOWN in this dress. The material is stretchy, the fit is generous and it is quite possibly the most comfortable dress I own! I teamed this with my trusty ASOS x Walls sequin clutch bad (which I wrote all about HERE), a hair flower that my Mum bought me from Style XL (which I reviewed HERE) and some Marks and Spencer’s Footglove Leather Sandals that I got in the sale yaaaaaay! They had just the right amount of heel which was perfect for me because I cannot walk in heels. I’d never be a model.
My gorgeous girlfriend Emma also wore Lindy Bop – she wore a Green Lana dress that you can find HERE. She looked amazing, don’t you think?!
