Blue skater dress

I’m always on the look out for a bargain. I’m passionate that women should be able to find excellent clothing for as little money as humanly possible – mainly because my purse can’t handle the speed at which I take out money from it. I can physically hear it crying sometimes.

So when the lovely babes at clothing asked me to review two items from their website, I wondered if good quality clothing at less than £10 was actually possible – but I needn’t have worried so much! They have a lot of ex-branded stuff on their site (by ex-branded, think high street brands with the labels cut out, and you’ve got it) and with their size range going up to a 32 in some instances, us fat babes are onto a winner!

I had a bit of a rifle through the pages of plus size products to find what items I wanted to review – I must say you need to set aside at LEAST an hour to do this. Some of the ‘plus-size’ items they have on the site are actually just items that go up to a size 18, so if you are larger than that you will need to have a proper trial and error moment. The annoying thing about the site is that there is no option to filter by size – something that would really cut down the browsing time!

Although the site says it does up to a 32, I don’t think I actually found any items that were a size 32. The highest size I found was a size 28, which is still better than most sites. There’s also a lack of plus-size models wearing the clothes which was very disappointing – how can we be expected to know what these items look like on us if they are on size 8 models?! I did see one lady who was apparently a size 16, but a real lack of diversity of models is not a good move.

I eventually settled on two items – a gorgeous *sleeveless polka dot shirt and a *bright blue skater dress! Funnily enough, even though the labels were cut out, I knew both of these items were once New Look Inspire…

I created two different summertime looks with these items for you. The mint green polka dot sleeveless top is two sizes above what I would usually wear – with the items being ex-branded it was difficult to gauge whether to size up or down, and they only had 2 size above or my actual size, so I played it safe. I actually prefer it a little bit oversized! I think this is a really cute casual and summery look for weekends in the park with your mates or a trip to the cinema.

I teamed it with my ASOS retro bowling style shoulder bag, ASOS Curve ripped skinnies and my Simply Be white sandals, and of course my GORGEOUS New Look ‘Cats Eye’ sunglasses! So adorable!

The next item I chose was this blue skater dress with attached necklace detail. It came with a black belt, but I swapped it for a white belt that I got with a different dress to make it a little bit more summery! I teamed this with my Michael Kors clutch bag and the sandals and sunglasses from the previous photos.

I think this is a great look for date night, or for a picnic on the park with your beau!

  1. Love the skater dress! Really impressed all for under £10. It is annoying when sites don’t let you filter by size though – I hate trawling through pages of stuff only to find what I like isn’t in my size!

    1. It’s up in my top ten reasons why not to use a website! Glad you like the dress, it’s so cute and really lovely and light to wear! Brilliant quality for such a low price – great if you’re on a budget 🙂 xxx
