I’m a lover of designer goods – you should know this by now after reading THIS ARTICLE about one of my style inspo’s Mary Katrantzou as well as THIS REVIEW of Canadian plus-size designer ElliottJane and Persse. So when this press pack for plus-size designer and maven ANNA SCHOLZ’ new A/W ’15 collection dropped in my inbox, I knew I had to share it with you too!
Isn’t she a babe? If you don’t know about Anna, here’s a little crash course:
- Anna’s clothing range is for sizes 14-28 and she has made clothes “to make stylish plus size women feel amazing”.
- Anna is German born and was a plus-size model during the 80’s!
- She launched her own online shop in 2009 after designing for Simply Be in 2006. I still have some of that collection in my wardrobe!
Anna’s A/W ’15 collection is split into four stories, each one has its own unique pieces that help to convey the stories behind them.
We’re Sizeist – Exclusively for Plus-Sizes
First of all, HOW AMAZING IS THE ABOVE STATEMENT. It’s been a while since a brand has come forward and been so blatantly in-your-face about being just for the plus-size babes in the world.
Here’s some of my favourite look from the book:
That mustard coloured textured print coat is incredible. The rose print is subtle but gorgeous and still packs enough of a punch for there to be NOTHING like this from anywhere else. The fringed suede bag is beautiful and will bring any outfit into a 70’s vibe.
Okay so Felicity Haywood is my girl crush anyway, so I am biased with this, however these two shots are absolute FIRE. That green leopard print dress is divine – it encapsulates all I love about fashion; brights, patterns, polka dots and a sweetheart neckline. The second look that Felicity is wearing is the perfect mix of edgy and twee – I am lusting after that skirt so hard!
So yes, surprise surprise, one of my favourite looks is a jumpsuit. But it’s not just ANY jumpsuit, this is an oriental wide legged DREAM. Pointed kitten heels, envelope clutch in an acid bright and this look will SLAY on any Christmas party (and yes, I just said the C word). The dress that Sara is wearing in the second shot is exactly how to wear florals during the colder months – keep your florals bright against a dark background and wear with opaque tights and little ankle boots for the best possible outcome. I think I’d also team this with a black cape/coat for those snow covered nights out!
Anna’s new collection is released NEXT WEEK on annascholz.com – will you be indulging in a bit of high glamour? Do you like to invest in key pieces? Let me know in the comments below!
