I’m a plus-size, feminist, gay girl from London, UK and after being utterly inspired by some of the babely babes I follow on the blogosphere, I’m pulling my proverbial finger out and starting a blog. Let’s see how this goes!
I’m currently just under the largest weight I have been in my life. I am fat (or obese, or chubby, or curvy, or whatever superlative you want to use!) and I am on a journey to love myself. Although I’m bigger than the norm, I am happier than I have ever been with my size. I’m currently skating between a size 20 and 22, but with all shops I can be anything from an 18 to a 24!
Just like pretty much every other woman I have ever met, I’ve struggled with my size and the way I look in the past. I still continue to struggle and battle now, but nowhere near as much as I used to. Through the power of some AMAZING plus-size bloggers such as Danielle Vanier, Callie Thorpe, Bethany Rutter and Georgina Horne, a real big change has happened in me. I’m starting to love the body I have and celebrate it more.
My aim for doing this? Well I guess I want to take other women through this journey of self-love with me. I want to empower women everywhere to feel as good as I am beginning to feel. Because I’m not quite there yet, I want to invite you all to grow on this journey with me.
My number one love in life is fashion. I love clothes, I spend far too much of my pay packet on buying the latest trends and adorning myself with statement necklaces. I’m making more of an effort to stop buying everything black as well – something I hope you’ll join me in doing if you’re sat reading this now!
Plus-size fashion is in an amazing place right now and I love trying all the new wonderful bold prints, stripes, white shirts and things that a plus-size girl “shouldn’t” wear. Well I say #effyourbeautystandards to that, I’mma wear what I want!
If you’re still here reading this, I’d love for you to come back and start this journey with me. I’ll be as honest as humanly possible, be real and be fashion-forward!
Feel free to introduce yourself in the comments, and if you have a blog, I promise to follow you!
