I know we are smack bang in the middle of our glorious British summer… you can stop laughing now… but there is plenty of time for you to get one with a field and attend a festival. Whether it’s a 3 day mash up or a 1 day party, plus size babes deserve to be festival fashion ready!
Of course you can go for all the usual flower garlands, shorts, band tees and floaty hippie vibes but this is an opportunity for you to go ALL OUT. And that’s exactly what I did at British Summer Time at Hyde Park, watching Take That!
I was lucky enough to be taken to BST at Hyde Park by Outside Organisation when the beautiful Danie Vanier was unable to attend and I just knew I wanted to wear something super bright, super sparkly and super different to anything that anyone else would be wearing – step up to the plate this gorgeous Rainbow Sequin Shift Dress from Simply Be!
This dress is super heavy and has hundreds and hundreds of small, iridescent sequins all over it. It’s got a lovely thick lining that is sewed onto the outer dress so there’s no worry of scratchy material! It also does a cool thing where if you brush the sequins the other way, it makes the dress all dark, as you can see in the photo where it’s brushed against my bag!
I teamed this dress with these boots from Boohoo – they don’t do wide fit, and usually my feet need a pretty wide shoe, but these fit me perfectly thanks to the lace ups being able to extend out sideways and they are SO COMFORTABLE. Really springy and cushioned, I lasted the whole day on them and my feet only started getting sore around 10pm! I’m wearing an ASOS Curve choker necklace too, slightly longer than a normal choker so it fits really well on a chunky necked princess such as I!
I got to meet KStewart and Girl Friend the band whilst I was there, hanging out in the media suite and backstage in the artists area – it was such an amazing experience! We were also lucky enough to get given access to the Premium View area right in front of the stage so we had a great view for when Lulu came out to sing Relight My Fire with Take That! It was such a good night, so thank you to Outside Organisation for taking me and for BST for being amazing!
