I’m in Love with the Coco…nut – Barry M Coconut Infusion

I’m going on holiday soon *yay!* and I’ve been on the hunt for some bright, beach worthy items to take with me on holiday. One of the things I’ve been worried about is how my nails are going to look on holiday. Yeah, I know that sounds like a stupid thing to be worried about – but I have a bit of a complex about them.

You see, I have eczema on my hands. That, and the combination of a year of false nail abuse, has made my nails brittle and flaky. I also have ridges on my nails thanks to the eczema, so my natural nails are a bit of a state.

The babes at BARRY M got in contact with me to tell me all about their new nail polish range Coconut Infusion. The polishes are made with coconut oil and coconut water as well as some other ingredients that nourish your nails from the moment you put them on. They were kind enough to send some to me to review.

Urm, mate, have you seen those shades? Imagine this if you will – beach, sun blazing down, cocktail in one hand, book in the other. You think to yourself “aaaahhh, this is the life” as you look down at your RIDICULOUSLY PRETTY NAILS. This is exactly how I feel when I look at these summer personified shades. This is 2 coats of the polish, no base coat (as recommended so the coconut-y goodness can reach your nails) and no top coat – excuse my messy painting skills:

I really really love these shades and the high shine on the polish, even without top coat, is just gorgeous. Although I was slightly disappointed that the polishes didn’t actually smell of coconut (don’t @ me, I love coconut), the quality of the polish is looooovely. I’ve had this on for a few days now and although 2 coats doesn’t quite cover my nail ridges (as you can see), it has remained really bright and shiny. I’ve had a little bit of chipping on my more flaky nails, but I don’t think that’s a result of the polish – more just where my nails are brittle and they’ve broken.

I’ll be adding these to my holiday bag – they are going to look so nice next to a tan – but I’ll probably put a top coat on just to help my nails a bit more. Can’t wait to see how the coconut oil and coconut water helps to strengthen my poor old nails too!

***Barry M gifted me these nail polishes and I loved them so much I wrote about them. I was not paid to write this blog post. All opinions are my own… As is that bag up there – HOW CUTE!***

YES YES YES I am so excited to try these. I feel ya on the nail ridges – I get finger eczema and a couple of my cuticles are basically non-existent – so I am about to get all over these.

What an interesting idea! I love coconut too! Someone gave me a coconut candle from their vacation, and I just put it near my bed to put away later, but it’s really relaxing ^_^ I love your holiday bag. Hope you have a good vacation!
